Symphony No. 4
Ludwig van Beethoven, a respected German composer and pianist, is regarded as one of the most revered figures in the history of Western music. His works, which span the transition from the Classical period to the Romantic era in classical music, are among the most performed in the classical music repertoire. The Lubbock Chorale is delighted to collaborate with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra to present some of Beethoven’s most renowned works. This includes the ‘Prisoner’s Chorus’ from ‘Fidelio’, a musical expression of hope and delight in the most bleak and dark circumstances, and ‘Choral Fantasy’, which is a blend of an unrestrained fantasy for solo piano, chorus, and orchestra. Admirers of Beethoven will value the combined musical forces of this performance.

In collaboration with Lubbock Christian University Choirs
Handel’s oratorio, Messiah, is recognized as one of the most revered masterpieces in history, particularly cherished during the festive Christmas period. This remarkably beautiful musical composition is predicated on a libretto written by Charles Jennens. Messiah chronicles the prophecy, life, and posthumous existence of Jesus Christ. Handel intricately designed it in three expansive sections: Prophecy and Fulfillment, Suffering, and Redemption. The Lubbock Chorale is set to perform this masterpiece, complete with chorus, soloists, and orchestra at the Cricket Theater, Buddy Holly Hall. Audience members will be presented with the opportunity to participate in a sing-along and relish this well-established holiday musical tradition.
